Recent Activities

Here are some of the activities that the children have been able to take part in recently.

We played a tune using our feet on the electronic organ.

The sun came out and we could go in the garden WITHOUT WELLIE BOOTS!

We counted lots of plastic bears into a group on the table.

We rolled the dice and separated that number of bears into a second group.

We counted both groups together and found out that the TOTAL NUMBER OF BEARS WAS STILL THE SAME!

We made a PASSPORT, wrote our name in it and STAMPED it like at check-in.

We folded a PAPER AEROPLANE, stuck FLAGS on it and made it fly!

In PE we took it in turns to crawl through our team’s legs

We made an ALIEN HAT.

We created the MOON’S SURFACE.

We sprayed shaving foam onto a plate, mixed food colouring into it with a cocktail stick and made a print on a piece of paper.

We soaked a BROAD BEAN in water then placed it on a jay cloth in a plastic bag.  If we place it on the windowcil, the warmth of the sun and water will make it grow!

We collaged and painted PLANET EARTH.

We PLANTED a SEED.  When it grows it will make oxygen and use carbon dioxide to help create our planet’s atmosphere.

We made a picture of our star – THE SUN.  We rolled the dice, counted the dots, found the number on the number line, and put the same number of sunbeams around our sun.

Our theme is space. We made a TELESCOPE with pin pricks at the end to show the light.

We made a galaxy of stars from a CD, glitter, glue and stickers.

We played SKITTLES.

We put pieces of fruit in a cup with sugarwater to make A FRUIT SALAD.

We chose from GRAPEFRUIT, LEMON SLICES, DARK CHOCOLATE, SUGAR CUBES and TASTED them.

We liked some of them and pulled faces at others.

We talked about HOT and COLD.

We put our fingers in warm water and then picked up ice cubes.

We poured the warm water on top of the ice to see what happened.  It melted!

We played with the PEG BOARDS

We put the STENCIL under the paper and rubbed the side of the crayon over it

We printed a pattern with a HARD brick and a SOFT sponge

We went on a BEAR HUNT in PE.  We went through the LONG GRASS, squelched through the STICKY MUD and stumbled through the DARK FOREST

We played with the CORNFLOUR, STRETCHING and POURING it, feeling its TEXTURE

We PAINTED a picture using BRUSHES and EASELS

We made the waterwheel SPIN and used the pipettes to SQUIRT water.

We drew inside the STENCILS

We put the plastic worms in LENGTH order

We tapped out the RHYTHM (syllables) in our names and other simple words.

We used SCISSORS to cut paper.

We made a SHAKER and shook it in time to the music.

We SEWED THE WOOL in and out of the holes.

We played “KIM’S GAME”.  Teacher had a tray with 9 items on.  We closed our eyes, she took one object away, and we had to guess what was missing!

We played with DOMINOES, counting the dots and matching them end-to-end

We used PLASTIC LINKS to count, sort and click together

We MOULDED PLAYDOUGH to fit wiggle lines, helping us with our mark making skills

We MADE MUSIC with various instruments

We created a picture using TEXTURED COLLAGE – feathers, shiny shapes and shredded paper

We used ROLLERS to paint TRACKS and PATTERNS

We tried to KICK the BALL into the GOAL NET

We found RHYMING PICTURES and fitted them together

We made SHAPE PEOPLE choosing from triangles, squares, rectangles and circles.  We used sellotape to add concertina arms/legs and glue sticks for googly eyes!
